D1 Oils making good progress
Sustainable new energy crop firm D1 Oils is making good progress and sees a range of range of positive developments in the Jatropha market.
It said there have been increases in crude oil and palm oil prices while new biofuel policy announcements in India, where the company has a significant and well-established presence, were creating favourable conditions.
It said contracts for $0.8m had been secured for government-funded Jatropha planting in north-east India.
Chief executive Ben Good said: "We are making good progress within the business and, with positive developments in our markets, the independent directors believe the company is well positioned to deliver value for shareholders."

Sustainable supply chain development is key to the merging bio-energy sector. D1 Oils seems to be reporting some progress, in bio-fuels which is good news. There other companies that are working in this area are using Jatropha.
There are alternative crops for bio-diesel fuels, that may be more valuable as part of an agronomic cycle. Some of these crops can be harvested using traditional techniques and can help re-introduce poor land into food production.
Some recent NGO observations have suggested that growing plants purely for energy may not be appropriate. “If the land is available, why not grown food on it for the poor?” Therefore, it may be more appropriate to consider a range of bio-energy crop solutions.
Please feel free to contact us and speak about what options there are. FiveBarGate Consultants Ltd has looked at a number of different international supply chain options, including Jatropha.
